CARDS MADE BY MY GRAND-DAUGHTER'S

Hi There ..

I had a wonderful afternoon on Tuesday , i spent it with 2 of my grand-children Lauren and Courtney , who are pictured just above . We spent the afternoon making cards , birthday cards for their Mum to be exact . They both are interested in crafting and making cards and i encourage them as much as i can . I was so happy with their results , i helped with the cutting out , but they picked the colours and and items they wanted to use and i feel they have done a brilliant job in matching everything . The image they choose i said they could have a go at water colouring it , they have never done this before . I showed them how i do it and then left them to it . What a fantastic job they did ! .. I am sure their mum , my daughter Ruth is going to be thrilled with them .

Aren't they just adorable ! I have sorted out and given quite a lot of my crafting stash that i dont need or want . I will get some other stuff that they will need and hopefully this will keep their interest in crafting .... Hi ... I'm late AGAIN !!! story of my life haha ! .... My mum's been poorly and we've had hospital visits with her and then her Dr wanted to come around and see her but she wanted family members there as well .  She had the results of her kidney scans , so we were thinking the worse .  Mum's kidneys are only working at 20% and she also has a mass showing up above her kidneys , Dr's dont know what it is !! It is around her adrenal gland area .  Now she could have a CT scan to see what it is there but they dont really recommened her having that done as it means a dye has to be pumped into her body and they dont think her kidney's would cope with it and as mum has already said that whatever is there she is not having a operation at her age ( she's 87yrs ) they feel it is best left ... so fingers crossed and lots of prayers are being said !! ..

I have also been to the hospital to have x-rays done on both my knee's .  The results didnt show anything but my Dr wants it investigated into more as he said the x-rays dont always show everything up .  So now i'm waiting for another hospital appointment !!  Good job i have a good stash of glue , tape and staples as i'm wondering when my body parts are going to start dropping off lol !...at least i'll be able to glue tape and staple them back on !! ...

Well i know i'm a bad blogger , i should try harder to up-date a new card on here at least once a week .  I honestly do have all good intentions but i dont know ,  something always happens or i'm so tired or in pain from the 'Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS'  that the days seem to go by and then the weeks .. Any ideas guys as to how i overcome this would be gratefully received !! To top it all i am going through the 'change' and boy is it terrible ! ...Hot flushes and sweats ...why do we women have to suffer these things ?? ! ..I cant take HRT as i had a blood clot in my leg last year so after doing some reading i'm trying out 'evening primrose oil and Vit E ' and 'black cohosh '  ...please let it work !

Right down to buisness , i have done a card , it was for my mum's 87th birthday ..I used another 'Digi stamp' , loving these 'digi stamps' so much ... how wonderful to have so many people with this wonderful gift and so many that share their work for other crafters to use !! This time i used a stamp from 'DIGI DOODLE SHOP', there are really beautiful digital stamps on this site and a very big selection . I choose a 'Gone With The Wind' stamp for mum's card , she's a big fan not only of the film but anything to do with the American Civil War , she knows just about everything to do with it !  I used white cardstock as the base which i completely covered with a lovely burgundy coloured paper , then i used a silver miri card on top of that i used beautiful paper from from the 'Walk in Wonderland ' paper pack selection .  Right now for the main bit ... i painted the image using my 'Cosmic Shimmer ' paints and 'Twinkling H20's' , i cut this image out using the 'Spellbinders' 'Labels Ten' i layered this on top of some beautiful glitter card which i cut out using the same Spellbinders' but the next size up .  Behind this i fixed some lovely lace , top and bottom i used some gems . in the corners i used some bards and also some fancy heart shapes with i cut out using 'Pendants' in 'Spades' from 'Spellbinders' finished it off with some roses and ribbon which i attached under the card stock so you can tie the card up .. Very pleased with the result ..hope you like it as well.

HELLO !!

Hi All ...... I'm here again with another card that i made for my grand-son Drew's 3rd birthday .  Where does time to ?? !!! ..It just seems like yesterday that he was born !  As you get older you may slow down but time speeds up at a terrific rate , it feels as if all i've done is blink my eyes and 50 yrs have shot past !! I find it frightening ... but we cant stop the hands of 'old father time ' can we ??!!

I used a white card for the base , and then layered it first with navy card and then pale blue .  Around the pale blue layered i added a dark blue ribbon .  I then edged the card in silver zig zag peel offs .

 I used another digital stamp , this time i used one from 'Mo's Digital Pencil Shop ' called 'Taking a Break' .... there are some beautiful stamps on here and i shall be going back for more !   I picked this as Drew's mum , my daughter Ruth , bought a Great Dane around this time last year ... he's called Milo and is as draft and a brush !! ..Well Drew and Milo are like best buddies , they follow each other around , Drew will quite often fall asleep on Milo ...... so when i saw this i just had to use it ...   I used 'Cosmic Shimmer Paints ' again and added a bit of Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Glue in places ....added some flowers , not to much as he is a boy so u cant go to OTT with a boy's card .  Down in the corner i used some other peel-offs ..the outline of box's of presents i coloured these in with Glitter Pens ...added some peel off stars and a couple of other things and Bobs your Uncle all done ... This is the first time i've done a Easel Card so i am very pleased with the result .

What a big boy he his !!! ...My son is 6 ft 4 in so you can see the height !!

Good morning .... Its been a busy couple of weeks .  Had x-rays done on both my knees to try and find out if the pain i get in legs could be something to do with my knee joints and not all down to my ' Fibromyalgia ' .  Should get the results in around a weeks time .  Also my mum hasn't been too good .  She had a scan done on her kidney's .  She has had problems with those over the last few years , but they showed more or less what they expected . But the scan has shown a mass above her kidney's , so they want her to have a CT scan now to see more fully what is going on .  So it has been a worrying stressful time here . ........................................ However i have managed to finish a couple of cards .  It was my Grand-daughter's Laurens 10th Birthday last Tuesday so i'm going to put this one up first .   It is my first time using DIGI stamps , but i've seen such beautiful cards that have been made using them that i thought i would give it go .  I found a lovely site called ' Whoopsi Daisy Design's ' ... beautiful imagies and very reasonable prices , there is also a challenge blog ' Whoopsi Daisy Challenge ' .  Take a look you wont be disappointed !

I used white card as a base , then layered with a pale pink one .  The patterned paper i used is from Papermania's Rose Garden .  The image as already stated is from the Whoopsi Daisy Design's ' , i sized this using 'Open Office ' , i picked the drawing one . I coloured the image using ' Cosmic Shimmer Paints ' and H20's , after it was dry i picked some of the image out with Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles Aqua .  I ran the image through my 'Cuttlebug ' using 'Spellbinders Nestabilities Lables 10 ' and i also run  some glitter paper through the 'Cuttlebug ' using the same nestabilities but the size up .  I then layered the coloured  image on top of the pink glitter paper and then layered this on top of the flowered paper .  I added some ribbon , which i bought from our local cake making shop !! Added some flowers and roses , which i added the ' Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles ' to around the edges .  The Happy Birthday sentiment was layered in the same card and paper .  On each of the corners i also added some brads .  Hope you like it .  As i said it is the first time i have used Digi Stamps and also the first time i think that i have used pattered paper .  

Well thats all from me now , i will add the other card in the next few days but i should be off doing the shopping lol !! .... WEDDING CARD AND MORE

Well what a last few weeks !  Have been ill , and that took me awhile to recover from because of my Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS , still not 100% but much better than i was .  My brother has also come home from Australia and has been staying with me with his wife .  So its been a busy time .  Anyway i have finished a couple of cards and managed to do some baking , the baking didnt help with my diet though lol , but what can a girl do ?? !!

The first card i'm going to add is the Wedding card that i had a request for , i stamped and embossed it in gold and then cut out each image and built them up to create a scene .  I used the Create -a-scene stamps , i love these stamps , easy to use and leave a lovely image . When i layered the images on the card i thought the scene would look lovely done as the 'window box' cards ( i did these themed cards for my family at Christmas ) .  I am very pleased with the finished result .

My second card is the card i made for my partner Tim .  I stamped the green card with a flourish stamp and embossed in gold and then used my spellbinders to create layers which i then put a poem on , finished it off with some ribbon and brads .  I find it so difficult to try and find a male theme , cards for females are so easy as you can use most themes but with men i get stumped !  But my partner was thrilled with the finished card and that is what counts !

MOTHER'S DAY CARD AND ENGAGEMENT CARD

Hi ... Well its been a very hectic last few days here ..My daughter Ruth had her engagement party Friday evening which was fantastic but i'm still feeling drained from it and the days leading up to it ...I have to realise i cant do things like i used to ! ..Never mind though i did enjoy it !

I made a card for my mum for Mother's day .  Its the first time that i have made a card using spellbinders and i really pleased with the result .  Hope you like it .

Also made the engagement card for daughter Ruth and her Partner ..I used the spellbinders again ..

This one is me with all my daughters , the one on the end is Rebecca my eldest daughter ...I love these girls so much , so very proud at the women they have become and the wonderful, loving and caring mother's that they are ! .

My son David with one of his mates ..Although he is one of twins , he is my 1st born . He had cancer nearly 5 yrs ago , and it was quite bad , he had to have extensive chemo and radiotherapy , it was a very worrying time for all of us ..thanks be to God he is with us today and hopefully he will get the all clear later this year .. In the background is one of my grand-daughters Courtney , doesnt she look beautiful !!

Well here we ae again ... I have been trying to start my decorating but it is a slow progress for me at the moment as i am having a terrible lot of pain in my right arm .. and yes i am right-handed .... i just hate letting my fibromyalgia stopping me from doing things , so , i am trying to push through it .. not doing too much as that would mean i paid for it big time and would be unable to do anything .. but i keep in mind the story of the 'Hare and the Tortoise ' !

Anyway apart from the decorating i have managed to do 2 cards .. one for my daughter Rebecca's birthday and one for her son , my darling grandson Joshua .  I have to get a card done for my mum as it is Mother's Day here this Sunday ..I have in mind what i want to do , so i'm hoping it will go to plan without too many hiccups !! ..Then i have to make a card for my youngest daughter Ruth and her partner Andrew as they are getting engaged the following week ...we are having a big family get together ..she has made some beautiful things for the party .  I also have a couple of ideas for keepsakes and i am so hoping that what i have in mind i can do as i have never attempted to do one before !!
