VALENTINE'S DAY

Well i'm a couple of days late but here are the Valentine's Day cards i made . 

The first one is the one i made to give to my partner .  The second i made for my daughter to give to her partner .  I am quite pleased with the way they have turned out .  I've been playing with my new cuttlebug , love this machine !  Yesterday i ordered some spellbinders to use with it , so looking forward to trying them out when they arrive . 

I havent been so good for the last 3 weeks now , i cant seem to get rid of this cold , and i must admit it is dragging me down at the moment , roll on the warmer weathter . 

I have decided to give my crafting room a good go through and and get some new items .  The desk i have isnt too good , so thats one thing i shall be getting and i've seen some nice racks to hold your ink pads and glitter glues etc and racks to hold your ribbons and they are quite reasonable priced ..Mmmmmm should look rather nice when finished .  Well not much more to say really , havent done much else because of my health at the moment , but i feel a baking spell coming up !! ... Cornish Heavy Cake and some tasty muffins ..yummy , mouth is watering already ! ...Well thats all for now , take care ...Nana Meme xx

SOME MORE CARDS

Just getting over a lovely cold so have been resting a lot . I have managed to get a couple of cards done though . Bought my 'cuttlebug' , well it had to be done !! ..After watching 'Sheena Douglas' on C&C channel with the 'spellbinders' and 'cuttlebug' i was totaly hooked . Now have to get some of the 'Spellbinders' thought i might get the heart shapes first for the Valentines cards .

 

This is one of the cards that i have done  , just decided to play around with some black card , i layered it with  grey striped paper .  I then stamped out a image of roses three times , embossed then coloured them with 'cosmic shimmer mica pigments which i made into paints , i then cut out two full images and one of the roses and layered them . Stamped and embossed a flourish on some white card , also did this with the sentiment , edged it with a coloured ink pad added a couple of gems and a ribbon , i love ribbons , cant help adding them to my cards ! I'm quite pleased with the finished result .

I have found a some what helpful blog giving advice on blogs and how to tips so i'm hoping i can find out how to do some of the things i am having problems with , time will tell .

 

This is the 'Flower Fairy' card that i made for my grand-daughter's 3rd birthday this week also used the insert from the same CD .  Really pleased with this one and Kerhys loved it !!

NEED HELP AND ADVICE

Firstly HI and thanks for dropping by ! ..I haven't been making cards for long , hence not many on here , also have been quite poorly with my Fibromyalgia before Christmas so didnt get around to doing too much . I am going to my first card-making workshop this Saturday , and i cant wait !! So looking forward to it and learning as much as i can . Right i need help PLEASE ...where do i find good easy to understand info on how to use / manage your blog ??!!! I dont know how to use my blog apart from adding a new post , adding a photo and a couple of other easy things , but i dont know how to add awards , how to link my blog with another and to pass awards onto others , well i think you have the jist by now , i dont know a lot LOL !!! ..But i would oh so love to be able to join in more in blogging land !! ..I have tried searching for info on-line but didnt find much that helped , so please if anyone drops by and reads this could you just leave a message with info on how to find out more ..Many thanks for that !!

Before i go , has anybody been watching 'Sheena Douglas' on Create and Craft and the 'Spellbinders ? !!! I seriously have to get myself a cuttlebug and some 'Spellbinders '!!!....

MY THOUGHTS AND PLANS

This will just be a short up-date .  I have decided that i seem to be getting no-where fast , so , i have made enquires and found that a craft shop in the next town runs work-shops once a month and , i have signed up for some classes .  I have all this crafting stuff sitting in my crafting room and all these ideas but i just cant seem to get them on the paper , so to speak !  Hopefully once i start to learn how to use different items and tecniques i can then start putting them into practice !!! I have come across some really wonderful blogs on here ! There are a lot of very talented people out there ! ..I would love to combine stamping ( which i have come to love ) with quotes , ( which i love to collect ) and make some beautiful cards which can then be kept as  keepsakes for my family .  I have finished work now , i have been accepted for full ' ill health retirement ' and i want to do something with the free time i will now have , sitting doing nothing is not how i want to be spending the rest of my life thanks ! Another thing that i would love to do this year is to learn how to drive , but i think i have to do one thing at a time .  I think that is one of my problems , i cant just do one thing at time and i end up not completing anything and that ends up with me stressing out .  This i think is to do with work and my illness and knowing that i had to get everything done on my days off because on my work days i would come home completly exhausted and had to lie down , i just cant seem to get myself out of that mode of thinking and behaving , everything i do is in a rush !  Perhaps i should join a group that teaches meditation or something like that lol !! Did i say this was going to be a short update lol !! thats just like me lol !!! ..Anyway i think thats all for now .

Late but still here !!

Hello All
Well i should have done this posting along time ago , but with one thing and another and Christmas i never seemed to have the time to sit and do this ...

The weather has been cold and we had some snow but not as bad as the rest of the country ! and now they are warning of floods because of the thaw out !  Why is it that life seems to revolve around the weather , is it a 'English' thing ? !!!

I had a brilliant Christmas although hectic and i did manage to make Family cards .  It took me a while and a lot of work as i have only made about 6 cards before but i was so pleased with how they turned out that it was worth all the time they took .  One thing's for sure i will be starting much earlier with my preparations for Christmas 2010 !

I have now finished work as i have been awarded full 'ill health retirement'  and i am so happy as i just couldnt cope any longer with work and my illness .  Maybe now i can spend some time doing the things that i have wanted to do for so long but just didnt have the energy , i'm looking at this as a New Beginning , A new adventure !!

The top card is one i made for a friend and the verse i encluded , the next cards are the ones that i made for my close family, 11 altogether .

The bottom  card i made for my brother who lives in Australia , i was too worried that the card would be damaged in the post to him so i scaled it down and changed it in some ways .

You can tell i know how to lay my blog out cant you LOL my pictures seem to be going anywhere !!

The start of making the mince pies , i did 9 doz altogether , not all for me i might add LOL ! i make them for my mum , brother and my children and their families as well...also made pickles and pickled eggs for us all as well !
I had to include the last photo ...it think it says it all ..Murphy my 'little man' is thinking about tucking in i think LOL ...Oh what memories ...something no amount of money can buy or ever take away !!!

3rd TIME LUCKY !!!

Hi all ..Well this is now my 3rd attempt of posting this blog !!! ...The 1st one i lost , the 2nd one i spent ages trying to find the photos of my first cards i made to include and after going through just about everything on my lap-top and getting just a 'little' teasy i gave up !!  This morning my brain or maybe i should say my 1 brain cell lol seems to be working and i reailised why i couldnt load my photos , its because i loaded the photos on my desk top computer and NOT my lap-top duh !!!!!!! ..Any way i just hope that this time it works !!

After watching a demo by Sue Wilson on a crafting TV programme i fell in love with the stamps she used and the cards she made and just had to have a go at trying them out for myself .  I love Autumn and all the beautiful colours of the leaves changing colours , and she used this in her demo . So a big ' THANK YOU ' goes out to Sue for her ideas !!

Life has been quite good of late and i'm not having so many bad days so hopefully the flare is going , all but slowly ! 

Christmas is just around the corner now , is it me or does Christmas seem to come around quicker as you get older ? !!! Another couple of weeks and i shall make a start on my Christmas baking , it shouldn't be such a rush for me this year as i'm not working ..oh bliss ..Well i have umpteen things to do this morning so i suppose i better make a start ..speak to you soon ..love and hugs Nannie Meme xx

CATCH - UP

I havent posted on my blog in ages !! I've had a very bad flare of my 'FIBROMYALGIA' but between the pain i've been busy buying more crafting items , well i had to do something to take my mind off the pain lol !!! well thats my excuse anyway lol !! ...Anyway i have been topping up my crafting items and i'm geting quite a bit of stuff now , trouble is everytime i watch ' Create and Craft' or walk into a crafting shop i see more that i want lol ! my poor credit card is going into melt-down ! ....I did tidy my spare room for my crafting room but i'm not happy with the way it is so i'm going to have another go at it this morning .  I've been looking at many other blogs , my, ... many many beautiful crafts you ladies or gents ! have on them , i'm no-where near as good as that but i will try and put on my blog things i have ( tried ) to do !

Well Hallowen has been and gone , all my grand-children called around to see me with their mums ( my daughters ) before they went out on their ' trick or treat ' venture , i took some photos , another thing i will try and put on here .  It was so good to have them come around and they all looked fantastic , really got me in the mood for Hallowen night !!

Well i guess i better get on and try to do some housework and then start on my crafting room .  Have a great day ...hopefully it wont be so long when i add to my blog again .......thats all from Nannie Meme for now .....
